This photo is one of six remaining photos taking of Marilyn Monroe while spending a weekend in Lake Tahoe in August 1962. In this photo she can be seen posing with pianist Buddy Greco. Monroe, Greco and Frank Sinatra were all performing in Lake Tahoe that weekend.
Five days later on August 5, 1962 LAPD police sergeant Jack Clemmons would receive a call at 4:25 am from Monroe’s psychiatrist saying that she was found dead in her Brentwood home. An autopsy conducted later concluded she died from “acute barbiturate poisioning,” resulting from a “probable suicide.”
